Lily Rose, a new artist, from Big Loud Records/Back Blocks Music and Republic Records is making a splash on the country music scene. Lily tells the story about how she was discovered on TikTok. This talented artist’s new single “Villain” is a viral sensation.
“Villain” has over 50 million streams and downloads worldwide since its release in December 2020. Lily was recently named “a promising new talent” by Billboard. The song was written by Lily Rose, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Kyle Clark. Producing “Villain” is Matt Morrisey. “Villain” is a story about a cordial breakup. Quite the opposite Lily discovered she was being portrayed as the bad guy on social media during the breakup. The song connected with fans and sky-rocketed to the top of the iTunes chart. The song caught the attention of Rakiyah Marshall the CEO/founder of Back Blocks Music and Lily emerged onto the music scene.
Lily Rose grew up in Atlanta Georgia. Lily is a self-taught musician; she taught herself how to play drums, piano, and guitar. In high school, she discovered her voice. Rascal Flatts, Lady A, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen, and Katy Perry are artists that have influenced Lily. She is a hard worker who held many odd jobs. In her own words, she would like to be known as a “good hard-working person”. She gets emotional when talking about all that she has been through trying to start her music career.
