Introducing Elvie Shane And Announcing His Upcoming Debut EP ” County Roads”
Named as one of Pandora’s “ Country Artists to Watch 2021” and with his debut single “ My Boy” making the US Country Radio Top 30 there’s already a big buzz surrounding Elvie Shane. Growing up in the quiet town of Leitchfield, Kentucky he was weaned on a blend of Gospel music and Southern-rock but it wasn’t until a Baptist Revival that his love of the genres would collide…… that day a young man who had recently lost his lead singer heard Elvie sing and asked him to join his rock band. Within six days he had learned new songs, performed his first show and fallen in love with the stage, and it was with this band that he began songwriting himself. My Boy ” went viral and was the catalyst for his career as a solo artist, earning him both his publishing deal and eventual record deal, and he has since opened for artists including Toby Keith, Brothers Osborne, Brett Young and Lady A. The tender ballad, which describes Elvie’s unconditional love for his stepson, was released as a single in 2020 and has become an anthem of love to blended and unconventional families. In just a few months it has garnered more than 26 million on-demand streams in the US alone and the song has gone viral once more as tearjerking videos of children playing the song for their stepparents began trending on TikTok catapulting the song to the No.1 spot on the platform.
And there’s more to come from this exciting artist in the coming weeks with the release of his first EP “ County Roads” via BMG/BBR Music Group on April 23rd. Elvie has co-written all the tracks of this six song project drawing on his own blue-collar existence as the son of a truck driver, resulting in an honest portrait of life in small town America.
He explains “ The response to ‘My Boy ’ has been incredible and I’m glad y’all got to see my sweet side but I want y’all to get to know all of me – from the roughest edges to the smoothest surfaces and this EP tells folks where I came from, what made me who I am and why I am the way I am…….’ County Roads ‘ is the raw, honest truth about my life “. And you don’t need to wait ‘til release day to discover what he means and see a totally different side to this versatile artist, as the EP’s title track which sees Elvie unleashing has wild spirit has just been made available. An ode to his upbringing, it embodies his energy and sound through country storytelling and elements of some of his biggest influences including Steve Earle, John Fogerty and Roger Miller.
Wanting to honour his roots in the song and in real life, Elvie enlisted the choir from his high school to contribute backing vocals on the song and filmed the accompanying video in his home state.
