CROSS ATLANTIC RELEASES INTIMATE VERSION OF “JUST A WORD”

Rising country duo Cross Atlantic has released an acoustic version of their latest single, “Just a Word” available now on all digital streaming platforms and digital retailers.

The stripped-down ballad of this meaningful love song shines a light on the emotional and personal lyrics about the sacred moment when you meet your forever person, and the word love becomes more than just language others casually use. With a more laid-back tempo than the original single, it is perfect for a (socially distanced) slow dance with a loved one this wedding season.

The autobiographical lyrics that were one year in the making were inspired by the connection they felt when they first met in 2015 in a Nashville’s coffee shop. At the time, Karli Chayne was pursuing a solo singer-songwriter career. James Sinclair-Stott, from the UK was visiting Nashville.

“This song has been such a bright light for us and our fans,” says Karli “it has made us all look back on special moments with those we love.  We encouraged our fans to share with us their love stories by sending pictures and videos with their loved ones to share on our social media. It felt great to talk about all of the good and we wanted to give this song more life with an acoustic version because seeing and hearing about the positive things is what we could all use a bit more of right now.”

“I slowed the tempo down and recorded a chilled acoustic guitar part in our spare bedroom, which doubles as a home studio,” says James, who produced the track. “The more downbeat feel gave Karli’s vocals more room to breathe and allowed her to really connect with the lyrics.”

Earlier this year the duo and couple released a full production single of “Just a Word,” lighthearted and irresistible with an arena-ready groove the single landed on Spotify’s New Music Nashville playlist on its debut week.  On February 19 Billboard exclusively premiered the official music video that was directed by Jon Karr. The heartfelt video mixes personal wedding footage from their Sept. 24, 2019 nuptials at The Estate at Cherokee Dock in Gallatin, TN with an acoustic performance from the couple.

During the quarantine Cross Atlantic have continued their songwriting sessions with co-writers via Zoom, and recorded demos in their home studio as well as performed from their home during Quarantune Live, a weekly live stream show on Facebook where they perform cover songs requests from fans.

ABOUT CROSS ATLANTIC: Cross Atlantic are powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Karli Chayne from Bolivar, MO and English musician-producer, James Sinclair-Stott of Huddersfield, UK. Although they grew up worlds apart, they bonded over common creative and rural upbringings after a chance meeting at Nashville’s Crema coffee shop in 2015. When they started baring their souls to one another through songwriting, they uncovered an undeniable, forever creative partnership that successfully blended Sinclair-Stott’s British rock background with Chayne’s rich heritage as a seasoned performer from the Missourian Ozarks.

2019 was a breakout year for the budding duo and couple, both professionally and personally.  The March release of their debut EP, ‘Beginnings’, featured the lead single, “Slow,” a foot-stomping, spirit-raising track that was featured on Spotify’s New Music Nashville playlist for four weeks. Apple Music featured the EP’s opener “Call It A Night” on its Country Wide playlist for six months. They married on Sept. 24th at Middle Tennessee’s The Estate at Cherokee Dock before an intimate crowd of friends and family. In November, CMT Next Up Now premiered the video for “Everybody’s Looking for Love,” a one-shot video that chronicles the story of their romantic and musical partnership, beginning with a loose depiction of their first meeting at Crema. In that same month, they released “Everyday’s Like Christmas,” an original by the groundbreaking ’90s country band, Little Texas, adding to the duo’s growing catalog of holiday songs, Christmas Tunes.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
