The Cadillac Three

Peace Love & Dixie EP

The Nashville trio return for 2015 with and EP that epitomises everything about The Cadillac Three – Gravel tinged vocals; heavy drums; screeching guitars; and all topped off with a Country rock vibe.

They do their own thing, which gives them a unique sound. They do their own thing, not conforming to the usual boundaries or constraints that many country music aficionados relate to. But it works… and it works well.

They have been described as a new ZZ Top by some, but in my opinion they are country music’s Kings of Leon. They’re Rock music crossover sound is like Florida Georgia Line +1!

This EP is typical TCT. Consisting of six tracks made up of four new songs and rounding off with two live tracks from their previous album.

It kicks off with the title track. A bluesy rock track with a side-order of pure edginess. It’s a dark-sounding song with a great guitar riff throughout.

‘Hot Damn’ is another edgy track (spot the theme here) with an extremely head-nodding catchy chorus. From here we move on to ‘Real People’. This is probably the rockiest tune on the disc.

Track four is ‘Party Like You’. Apart from being my personal favourite, it’s the EP’s liveliest song, and was actually released as a single in its own right last year. It does have a lot of Florida Georgia Line about it, and you could almost hear the two bands singing it together. A great tune to liven up any country get together.

The two live tracks are ‘White Lightning’ and previous single ‘Down To The River’ were recorded from their December 2014 gigs at The Garage in London. (1up to the Brits!)

It’s a great EP if you like the heavier side of country.

I hope they continue to do their own thing for as long as they can. I for one will raise a Bud Light to the non-conformists where music is concerned!

You can catch The Cadillac Three on the 4th stage at this year’s Download Festival at Donnington Park, Derbyshire on 12 June 2015.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
