Tortuga Music Festival Ft. Lauderdale Fl.- Day #1

It is Music Festival Time!! The weather in the States is warming up and that means your favorite artists are coming to a city near you!! Get your best Festival clothes ready! If you have never attended a Festival, let me give you some details…Some are on the small intimate side, and some are large and take all day, all night, and span over days… you may just want to hear the music, marking out your spot for the duration, or walk the entire span of the grounds and see all the happenings!! Well, I am here to tell you that the Tortuga Music Festival in Fl. Lauderdale Florida, is one of those that is a gargantuan event. The full name is “Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival”. Think Country Music was there for the 3 days of the event, and with help from Leah Nerges @Mustang Music Management, we walked what seemed like a billion miles, covering for you the Country Music fan, all of the music and events that took place. Of course you would want to know about the music line up at Festival to schedule your route accordingly. Day #1 Lineup was crazy good, and we were ready to get out there to capture all the shots for the fans.

There were three stages and we hustled to them so we wouldn’t miss a minute of the action. Stage #1- Main Stage, was HUGE!!! and

was filled with fan favorites such as Jillian Jacqueline, Morgan Evans, Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, and Jason Aldean.

Stage #2- Sunset Stage, was just a little smaller, but still on a very large scale. Performing there on Day 1 was Mishka, Elle King, The Wailers, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

Stage #3- Next From Nashville- All the newer stars you hear playing on radio lately were there and are breakout artists. Seaforth, Waterloo Revival, Caylee Hammack, Tenille Townes, and Travis Denning.

The reason Tortuga was started was to help inform the public about Ocean Conservation and how environmental issues and man made plastics and debris affect marine life and the sustainability of our Oceans. There was a section of the beach aptly named “Conservation Village”. Here is where you could go and see for yourself the efforts being made to maintain our marine life. Talking to the amazing people that are behind the scenes, I was amazed at what they do to help to clean up and monitor the Oceans. One of my favorite organizations was there,“Loggerhead Marine Life Center”, based in Jupiter, Florida. They help the sea turtles that utilize our local beaches for nesting. Florida is a major site for the endangered species of several giant Sea Turtles making their way to lay their eggs. The Center helps to monitor the nests to ensure that the hatchlings can make it to the mighty oceans and have their turn at survival.

Back to the music!!  We achieved our goal at getting some amazing shots from all the stages. What an incredible and exhilarating first day!!! I don’t think I can actually name a favorite, they were all that good!!

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
