Robert Vincent News: AMAUK Nominations, New Video and “From Home” EP Series
Little did UK’s Robert Vincent know about how the rest of 2020 would pan out when he released his album “ In This Town You’re Owned” last February. Tour dates to support the release, which were to culminate in a home town show in Liverpool, were obviously cancelled but fortunately the hard-working Americana artist had managed to showcase some of its tracks during his extensive UK tour in late 2019, which included performing at London’s Country Music Week having journeyed to Nashville the previous month to play music city’s Americana Festival. “ Trust me, to release an album at the start of a global pandemic, I for one never imagined that I would have to do the large majority of live performances and promote this album from my studio room at home” he admits!
But the the Ethan Jones produced album has still managed to receive much critical acclaim ( including Bob Harris calling it a “ true gem” ) and has earned Robert two nominations at next week’s UK Americana Association awards …… UK Album Of The Year ( which he won in 2018 for his previous release “ I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins”) and UK Artist Of The Year. A fan of Ethan’s production for many years, Robert was keen to work with the BRIT Award winner this time round, saying “ For me, music has become quite stale and lifeless, and what I love about music is the imperfections that are in there, especially in the recording process”. They recorded straight to sixteen track tape with minimal overdubs, everything was live, the entire album being recorded and mixed in just two weeks.
And today, a week before the AMAUK winners are announced, he has shared a new video for the album track “ The Ending”

Turning to live streaming from home during the past year has seen some benefits for Robert, who has been able to communicate individually with his viewing audience in a unique way and has led to fans asking if he would record solo or acoustic versions of his songs. The result is a beautiful three-part series of EP’s, titled “ From Home” , consisting of stripped back album tracks and covers which have inspired him along the way. Talking of the series Robert says “ With my friends, and engineered with Gareth Jones at home, playing live, relaxed and yes, well ok, there may have been a drink or two involved, we recorded around 30 songs and i chose 12 in all to go on the EPs”,
He has already released the four-track Vol I, “As Live As Can Be” and this Friday, 22nd Jan,  Vol II is available via his label home, Nashville’s Thirty Tigers, consisting of a further four tracks which this time focus on the latest album. Further details of all three volumes are shown below.
And later this month Robert will co-host and perform at the Thirty Tigers “ Storytellers” virtual show on the 26th before another virtual set at the John Prine Tribute on the 28th.
