NEWS: LYRIC VIDEO RELEASED IN ADVANCE OF NEW EMOTIONAL SINGLE “MY LAST PRAYER” BY MATT KENNON

Matt Kennon, known for his deep raspy voice and vocals that not only tug at the heart strings, but leave lasting impressions with listeners has announced an exclusive agreement for download and concert on June 10th  at7 pm CDT with Crowd Music for the release of his emotional single, “My Last Prayer.” Tickets for the online event are available on the website here and the Crowd Music App.

Kennon also released a lyric video in advance to support awareness of the upcoming digital release of his single, “My Last Prayer.” Songwriters for this timely project are Craig Reynolds and Brian Robinson . The song was produced by Matthew Stevens and Matt Kennon and mixed by Caleb Stevens.

“I felt it was important to get the lyric video out to viewers as quickly as we could during these trying times, as the words have such an impact as to what I’m feeling and what so many are feeling at the moment,” shared Matt Kennon. “The video is simply done, but so effective in regards to today’s climate. Based on previous releases, lyric videos connect in a big way with the listener.”

“We at Crowd couldn’t be more excited to be working with Matt! Not only is Matt an incredible talent, but we share a heart and vision for making sure all great creatives are well-compensated for their time and talents,”David Browning – Co Owner of Crowd Music. “It’s this mindset that will change the musical world, for the better, and Matt is leading that charge! We are thankful that he trusts us with his incredible music, and we hope it’s a long road together from here!”

We are currently in an unprecedented time and efforts to institute the practice of “social distancing” in countries all over the world, resulting in changes in national behavioral patterns and shutdowns of usual day-to-day functioning. This song was recorded with the feelings of despair as people are losing jobs, income, dealing with home-schooling and working remotely from home, not to mention the front line medical staff dealing with the Covid-19 disease, death and the stressful day in and day out of worry. The mental stress and emotions find people praying for answers.

“When Matt brought the song to me I instantly thought it was a great song for these times. It’s timeless and touches your soul. We wanted to produce it in a way that would impact the listener and give them hope. Matt’s voice and feeling he poured into this was real and powerful,” said Matthew Stevens, SMG-Nashville. “It comes from a familiar place that all of us have been at one time or another. Our hope is that it will connect and encourage the listener in a mighty way. The world needs more songs like this.”

The single, “My Last Prayer,” will be available for streaming and download on all digital music platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play and more June 26th.

About Matt Kennon:

Matt Kennon knows the power of a great song. It can stir your emotions, move you to tears, motivate you to action, and in some cases even save your life, as Matt has seen firsthand in his career with songs like “The Call,” “You Had To Pick On Me,” and even his latest song, “Wasn’t It Enough.” For him, music is about the message, and time and again he’s written thought-provoking and heart-tugging songs that have racked up impressive chart numbers and even more impressive sales: throughout the course of his career he’s already sold 300,000 singles and 30,000 albums. The Atlanta native is inspired by and writes about things close to his heart, and often finds himself writing songs with emotional messages. His songs have definitely hit home with many struggling with issues like suicide, post-traumatic stress, and bullying. The Atlanta native devoted the last two-plus years to a special anti-bullying campaign he developed and took to 83 schools in seven states. Through partnering with several sports foundations around the country, including Alabama coach Nick Saban’s charity, Nick’s Kids, Matt was able to reach 150,000 students with a powerful anti-bullying message.

The campaign was just one example of how apt Kennon is at dialing in to the emotions fans are experiencing, and for proof of that connection, one need not look any further than the iTunes chart, where Matt has been a Featured Artist for the last five years with each of his independent releases. His explosive live shows no doubt fuel those sales as well, as Kennon is a powerful live performer with thousands of shows under his belt on stages across the country. Throughout the course of his career he’s shared the stage with high profile artists including Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, and Train, Darius Rucker, Uncle Kracker, Lee Brice, and The Band Perry, among others.Powerful social media interaction has moved the needle for Kennon.  The video for “The Call” recently reached an amazing seventeen million accumulated views. A successful songwriter in his own right, with outside cuts by artists such as Randy Travis, (who recorded his song “Turn It Around,”) and many others. The soulful singer also writes with many of Nashville’s top writers regularly.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
