Lombardy’s New Single “Hurricane” Scores A Big Win

Lombardy’s new single “Hurricane” is an extremely clever song. This reviewer loves the beat in the song. It is expertly performed by these four talented musicians. “Hurricane” is amusing and clever; in this reviewers’ opinion, it could launch Lombardy onto the mainstream music scene.  “Hurricane” is catchy and carries the listener along on the journey it portrays. The melody is strong and rhythmic. The vocals are appealing and make you want to listen. The lyrics are impressive and soulful. The lead you to believe in hell has no fury as a woman scorned. I find it very clever that Lombardy has managed to liken a woman to a hurricane. The refrain is catchy and made this reviewer sing along almost instantly.  “Caught in the middle of her wild rage/All my walls fall, the sand is blown away/till the storm dies, and the waves break/can’t be stopped, can’t be tamed/she’s a Hurricane”.  The video shows the guys of Lombardy enjoying themselves performing the song. I enjoy this song and added it to my Spotify playlist.  Hurricane” is the third release by this talented quartet. Check out the video here.

Rock and Roll band, Lombardy was formed in late 2020. The band consists of Mike Scott (vocals/lead guitar), Jonathon Plevyak (vocals/rhythm guitar), Nick Stafford (bass), and Ryan Rasmussen (drums). Out together for Ryan’s birthday, Lombardy was formed over pizza and listening to music from Rage Against the Machine. Each member has their solo career.

Lombardy is named for the street where all the bandmates live in Nashville. The band is influenced by all different eras in rock and roll including classic rock, outlaw country, even metal to blues. Inspired by the above-mentioned Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and Pearl Jam. Their sound is reminiscent of 90s alternative rock. They recorded their first record in one take while being in the same room. The modern refreshing sound you hear on ‘Hurricane’ is the result. “Hurricane” is their third single since the debut release of “Don’t Wanna See You Round Here” in January 2021. Lombardy anticipates the return of live shows post-COVID, they will be releasing music on streaming platforms until then. Lombardy was recently selected as finalists in the Lightning 100 Music City Mayhem Contest. Take a listen to this talented group they are sure not to disappoint.
