First new music of 2020 from Rob Mayes out now with ‘Building Us’

Following a successful 2019, which saw him make his debut foray into Country music, Rob Mayes is back with new track Building Us, his first in 2020.

Written by Rob, Kevin Leach, Ryan Rossebo, and Evan Williams, Building Us is produced by Smith Curry, mixed by Marc Desisto, and mastered by Andrew Mendelson.

Talking about the meaning behind the track Rob reveals:

Building Us is an homage to building a family and the support therein. Country music is all about life, and Building Us is a quintessential Life song, from childhood, to adolescence, to having kids of our own, it tells the story of growing up, and the support we give and receive. With conversational verses and a super sing-along-able chorus, Building Us will (hopefully!) have you singing along, smiling, and reminiscing.

The track is Rob’s first since he released a surprise cover of Lewis Capaldi’s smash-hit Someone You Loved just before the end of December. Rob has put a Country spin on the track and commenting about it he says:

Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved is hands down one of the best songs of 2019. And I knew I wanted to envision it as a country song the moment I first heard it. He sings the absolute hell out of it and I hope I do it just a fraction of the justice Capaldi unleashes.

Fans can expect plenty more music from Rob in 2020 as he continues to showcase the different sides of his abilities following the release of his Closer EP last September.

As an actor Mayes is known for his work on ABC’s “Mistresses”, Lifetime’s “The Client List” and the cult classic film “John Dies at the End”.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
