After a storming set at the very first C2C in 2013, Carrie Underwood is the first headliner to be announced for Country to Country in 2016.
For the first time the annual country music festival will be held over three consecutive days – Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March, 2016 – in each of three cities; The O2, London, the Dublin 3Arena and, for the first year, Glasgow Clyde Auditorium. Carrie will play the venues on the following dates:
• Glasgow Clyde Auditorium – 11th March
• London The O2 – 12th March
• Dublin 3Arena – 13th March
Chris York, promoter at SJM said: “Country to Country is delighted to welcome Carrie Underwood back to the event as headliner in our fourth year. In addition to The O2, London we are delighted to have her help launch our inaugural Glasgow event and our third year of C2C in Dublin.
“Carrie helped establish the event in our first year and the creation of the biggest celebration of country music outside North America. Country to Country is proud to have event partners BBC Radio 2 and the Country Music Association on board.”
Rebecca Kane Burton from The O2 added: “Country to Country has been a huge success for The O2, connecting thousands of country music fans with the best artists from the US, UK and around the world. We are proud of how the event has grown since 2013 and are excited about Carrie Underwood returning to our venue for the biggest C2C yet, next year”
The full event line up and on-sale details will be exclusively revealed during a C2C Launch Party at Brooklyn Bowl on Tuesday 6 October.
Following the C2C Launch Party there will be a special C2C Presents Little Big Town show. The 2014 CMA Vocal Group of the Year and Grammy Award-winners Little Big Town have enjoyed huge critical and popular success with their latest album Pain Killer on Capitol/Decca.
The four piece group comprises Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook. The first single off Pain Killer was the American No. 1 “Day Drinking” which was playlisted at BBC Radio 2 and their latest single, “Girl Crush” – the biggest country music hit of 2015 so far – will be out in the UK soon.
