C2C 2020 Main Stage Introductions: Runaway June

Runaway June: the sassy trio of Naomi Cooke, Jennifer Wayne and Hannah Mulholland bring the sun kissed sound of the Golden State together with the fun-loving vibes of the Sunshine State to create a unique blend of an organic and authentic rootsy sound which is intertwined with a fresh modern take on the world. Their sound is so relevant and relatable through their honest craft as songwriters and unforgettable harmonies and by phenomenal demand are set to return for C2C Country to Country for a second consecutive year but this time will be playing the main stage.

Since their maiden voyage across the pond the trio released their debut album ‘Blue Roses’ through Wheelhouse Records (an imprint of BBR Music Group) which was met with widespread positive praise (including our own review HERE) whilst independence anthem following a breakup and lead single from the record ‘Buy My Own Drinks’ which was co-written by the girls with Hillary Lindsey and Josh Kear became the first top 5 song from an all female trio in 16 years since the Dixie Chicks!

A large part of 2019 was spent on the road with Maddie & Tae as they both joined Carrie Underwood for nights of pure girl power on her ‘Cry Pretty 360 Tour’ whilst this year looks set to be another busy time as in addition to returning to Europe for Country to Country the trio head to Queensland in Australia for the CMC Rocks Festival before joining Luke Bryan on his ‘Proud To Be Right Here’ Tour. Given the reaction to Runaway June in London at their first appearance last year, it is no surprise to see them return and follow in the footsteps of Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Old Dominion, Sam Hunt and Drake White to ‘graduate’ onto the main stage this year so the UK is definitely somewhere that fans will be hoping becomes a regular future tour stop.

Runaway June return for a second appearance at C2C Country to Country performing in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Glasgow and Dublin in addition to a further show in Switzerland before heading off to Australia to perform at CMC Rocks Festival. You can find all their upcoming tour news and keep up to date with the girls on their website and socials:

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
