Ahead of Brooke’s appearance at this years Country to Country festival here’s a little backstory and review of her latest track, ‘ Daddy’ s Money’ .

It was in the early part of last year that I discovered the sensational talent of Brooke Eden. I was on the hunt for some new music and I stumbled across her track ‘ American Dreamin’ . That song, with its summary vibes transported me from a grey and miserable England to somewhere a little more, tropical, somewhere like Florida, which is Brooke’s home state.

She was born in West Palm Beach, and inher own words is a “city girl by birth, but country girl by blood”her Father was a singer and drummer in a country band so country music had been present her whole life.

She released a self titled EPin 2014, along with the single‘ American Dreamin’ – both of which were released independently.

The single had some radio airplay on Sirius/XM The Highway. The end of 2015 saw Edens first label release.‘ Daddy’ s Money’ was released in December on Red Bow records, and the track sends out a powerful message to the working middle class. Lyrically it tells the story of a girl who grew upin the country and left home at the age of 18 to make her way in the world, but in order todo so she needs to earn every dollar as she doesn’t come from a rich family, That being said it’s not a song of hate as the lyrics from the second verse confirm “Now I ain’ t hatin’ on a trust fund baby I just wasn’ t that fortunate”assuring the listener thatshe isn’t envious of people who grew up with their parents paying for their college fees, or their lifestyle. It’s certainly a theme I’m sure many ofus can relate to.

Brooke has confirmed she’s working on her debut album but with no release date set.I hope it’s not too long until we hear more from this lady. What do you think of‘ Daddy’ s Money’ ? Let us know!

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
