Blue Genes win the chance to open for Bernie Nelson

Blue Genes

Here at Think Country we recently ran a competition to find an opener act for Bernie Nelson at the Fort San Antone on 25th September.

We had lots of applications (thanks to all that applied) but here is a snippet of why we chose this up and coming country trio

I think that Blue Genes should open for Bernie Nelson because our youngest member is our main songwriter and she could learn so much from a legendary songwriter like Bernie.

Megan started playing guitar at 10, writing music at 11 and at 12 is about to record her own songs as part of Blue Genes family trio’s debut EP.

All three members have a passion for country music but Megan is particularly obsessive with the storytelling and natural sounds of country music song writing.

The band have just recorded debut EP at Parr Studios with former Nashville producer and BCMA nominee Justin Johnson. The debut single will be released on the 23rd of October 2015 and the EP in January 2016.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
