Back Again With Adam Warner at CRS 2020

He’s no stranger to us anymore at Think Country.  We’ve met up with Adam Warner before and I suspect our interview at CRS 2020 won’t be the last.  This is an artist on the move. We had a very limited space of time to talk so we got right into what he’s currently up to.

Think Country:  Adam, what’s new and exciting?  Current album is still Big Storm, correct?

Adam Warner:   Yeah, that’s right, Big Storm and wow, man, we’ve been traveling and recording and releasing.

TC:  Doing everything!

AW:  Kissin’ hands and shakin’ babies, or wait, is that the other way around?  Yeah, the other way around. (Laughing)

TC:  Well, this is exciting, you’ve got new music, a new project, new stuff.   Tell me about it.

AW:  Well, I’m recording next week and I’ve got three new songs I’m about to put out this year, but the one I just released is “That’s How You Know You’re Livin’”.  That one just released on Spotify, iTunes, anywhere you can stream music. We also shot a music video for that and it releases on March 6th.

TC:  That’s very exciting.  What else? Obviously you’ll go out and tour the world.  Well, I don’t know, how far is the world for you this time? How far are you going?

AW:  World’s end, we’re goin’ to the very end of it.  No, actually we’re taking this next month to be in the studio and work on this next group of songs we’ll be putting out, and then I know we’ve got some Texas dates we’re workin’ on and also we’ll be back in Wyoming in August or September for sure.

TC:  Okay cool, so out west.  Will you be doing a radio tour?

AW:  We did some radio stuff at the beginning of the year to help promote “That’s How You Know You’re Livin’” and then yeah, we’ll be going to Memphis next month to do the morning show there and I also believe Lexington, Kentucky.  We did the morning show here in Nashville as well.

(At this point, Annette Gibbons popped in and I introduced her to Adam)

TC (Patti McClintic):  Adam, this is Annette Gibbons.  She’s the boss and she’s much more fun to talk to than me.

Think Country (Annette Gibbons):  Oh, you’re fun to talk to.

TC (PM):  Maybe, but I don’t have a cool British accent.  At least my fake British accent isn’t quite as good as your authentic one anyway.

TC (AG):  So, what are we talking about?  Music or what?

AW:  Yeah, we’re talkin’ a little music, travelin’, all of that.

TC (AG):  So when are you coming to England?

AW:  That’s a good question.  What’s crazy is on my analytics, like with Spotify and all that, I feel like almost half of my audience is from the UK.

TC (AG):  The UK likes your style of music.

AW:  That’s awesome.  We’ve been talkin’ about that all day today, like I would love to go over there.

TC (PM):  You would do well there.  There are a lot of people in the UK that like your kind of jam.

AW:  Oh yeah, I know C2C is a huge thing there.

TC (AG):  It is.  We just talked to The Cadillac Three about playing C2C and the last time they were over they were playing a rock festival.

AW:  I love those guys too, they’re great.

TC (PM):  What’s going on in your non-musical life?  Anything new and fun there?

AW:  Well, the wife and I are remodeling the house together.  She’s the boss, I just do what she tells me.

TC (PM):  I believe that’s the way it’s supposed to go.

AW:  A lot easier that way.

TC (AG):  Sometimes we let the men think they’re right and let them go, but then we bring it back in again.

(Laughter)

AW:  We’ve got that goin’ on and that’s about it.  Just hangin’ out with the dog, tryin’ to keep the cat from killin’ the dog.

TC (AG):  Didn’t Bill (90 East Photography) tell me he’s  taken photos of you?

AW:  Yeah.  It’s actually one of the shots he took that we might be using on The Nashville Sign down there on the split.

TC (PM):  That would be killer.  I love that shot too.

AW:  Yeah, I’m pretty sure we’re using it.

TC (AG):  Any CMA Fest week performances for you?

AW:  I hope so.  I know I have a couple performances, probably on the stage by the Hard Rock I guess.  I’m still waiting to hear more back, but as of right now I think that’s the only thing we’ve heard back on.

TC (AG):  That’s good though.  Just to get out there and get your name and your music recognized.  So, if we were to introduce you to the UK with one of your songs, to say this is what you’re all about, what song would you pick?

AW:  You know, my new song, “That’s How You Know You’re Livin’” is a pretty good indicator.  Oh, man, I’ve got a brand new one that’s about to come out called “Can’t Hide Country” and that would be just perfect, but it’s not out yet.

TC (AG):  When is that one out?

AW:  Actually, I go into the studio on February 24th to start recording, so I’m excited about that one.

TC (PM):  Who wrote that one?

AW:  My friend Logan Wall and two more guys.  Please don’t hate me because I forgot your names, I’m horrible with that.  The names are escaping me. Logan Wall is a good buddy of mine. He’s an artist over at Warner-Chappel and a phenomenal writer.

TC (AG):  So, when it’s out be sure to send it our way.

AW:  Oh, I definitely will.

TC (AG):  Well, thank you for stopping by.

TC (PM):  Yes, thanks again and don’t forget to sign our banner.

AW:  Alright, thank you!
