Independent singer/songwriter Allie Colleen surprised fans today with the release of “Make Me A Man,” the third digital single from her debut album STONES. An emotion-filled ballad co-written by Allie Colleen and Eric Dodd, it’s now available for streaming and download on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube Music, Pandora and more platforms here http://smarturl.it/makemeaman?fbclid=IwAR2ow5KDvAObBFJGwNdOrIZOJzuuFZUxetB2rECmyomxFN-Ri3Fz9AyHwr4

“I have had a really amazing opportunity to watch both my parents fall in love again. Before I play this song at shows I always have to clarify “This is not eHarmony for my mom, don’t slide in her DMs, she’s got her man,” Allie Colleen shared. “It has been such a gift to know my parents “have found their person. I also know what it is like to be a part of that love triangle of watching your mom wear her heart on her sleeve. This Mother’s Day, I want to recognize all the single moms and dads out there trying to raise their babies best they can. I am not a parent, but as a child, I can also say this one goes out to the kids, as sometimes we have to remember our parents are growing up too.”

Allie Colleen’s co-writer on “Make Me A Man,” Eric Dodd said, “This is actually the first song Allie and I wrote together, and we have probably written fifteen songs since. Allie said she had been wanting to write a song for her mom, and she just really opened up about what she would give to have the perfect man for her; this song is a prayer to God. Allie had the majority of ‘Make Me A Man’ written, so I just did my best not to mess up this beautiful story. She sings this one with so much passion, and is such a sweet gift for anyone with a single mom.”

“… God make me a man, worthy of my momma

To hold her tight when I’m not around

When she’s scared, he’ll be right beside her

Gives her faith in the love she’s needing now

God make me a man

God send me a friend

Quick to understand

Makes us laugh whenever we are hurting

Maybe a chef, a good cook at best

Her lonely table will always have a guest

Give her a reason to open her heart again

To know there’ll never be a cold side of the bed…”

I'm Patti. Rock music is my first love. Country came later, but once I was in, I was all in. I'm a history geek, so I love learning about classic country and anything attached to it. You might find me strolling the cemeteries of Nashville, having silent conversations with the songwriters and artists that shaped this amazing genre. I'm an amateur genealogist with over 20,000 people on my family tree. I'm a Buffalo, New York girl living in a Nashville, Tennessee world with my husband and my furry kids. My real kid is an adult and lives in New York with her own three daughters. I'm addicted to SongPop and I don't care to enter rehab to fix that. If you ask me about myself, I'll tell you I have an eight-year old mind, a 77-year old soul and a middle-aged body. I'm a mess. :)
