UK Country superstars, The Shires, who this year became the first ever UK Country act to break the Top 10 on iTunes, today announce that they will be performing alongside Carrie Underwood at this year’s Apple Music Festival London, at the Roundhouse on Monday 21 September.

The Shires said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be added to the Apple Music Festival London line up. We are huge fans of Carrie, so to be sharing the stage with her will be an incredible experience. Country music is continuing to become more and more popular in the UK, and it’s great that Apple are acknowledging the genre with an evening devoted exclusively to country music at the festival.”

The Shires will perform at the Apple Music Festival on a night when Country stars from both the UK and the US for one spectacular evening of country music. The show will mark a new date in the UK country music calendar and give fans another chance to see the fast-rising country superstars, The Shires, whose meteoric rise has seen them become one of the biggest breakthrough artists of 2015 and score a Top 10 for their debut album ‘Brave’. Since their Top 10 in March, The Shires have gone from strength to strength, supporting Tom Jones on tour, securing high rotation at Radio 2, and playing Country music’s most important stage: Nashville’s The Grand Ole Opry. The sound of the summer 2015 was definitely UK country as The Shires also made their debut on the UK festival circuit, performing exclusively across countless high profile festivals including Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Larmer Tree and Camp Bestival.

The Shires will not be taking a rest after their packed summer schedule and plan to go straight back out on the road again, touring the UK through October. The tour will begin at Bedford Corn Exchange on 1 October and will culminate in a headline show at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 24 October. Full dates detailed on the bands official website.

The duo will also support US country music superstars Little Big Town on their Pain Killer tour in the USA this year, marking another significant landmark moment in their domination of the UK country scene and also their rapidly developing profile in the United States.

The band will support Little Big Town, whose monster hit ‘Girl Crush’ has dominated the Billboard Charts this year, at key shows including: the Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho on 13 November 2015 and also Little Big Town’s show in Canada, at the Abbotsford Centre, in British Columbia on the 19 November 2015.

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
