New Country Music Club Nights Celebrate Country Music’s Rising Popularity In The UK.

Nash Nights
Country music is not what it once was. It’s not all Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette. It’s no longer about linedancing and two-stepping, country music has evolved and as a result its popularity in the UK is growing at a rapid rate. The largest country music event in the UK, the C2C Festival returns to London’s O2 Arena in March 2016 for its fourth and biggest year. This three day event brings the top selling US Country Artists to the UK and this year is headlined by Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Carrie Underwood. Also, performing will be Grammy Nominees Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton.

Nashville Nights are a new events company celebrating this rise in popularity and are bringing their unique Country Music Club Nights to clubs around the UK to provide a place for Country fans to enjoy this music throughout the year. Co-founder and Events Director Janine Lambert explains why she believes 2016 is the year when country music will start to be taken more seriously in the UK “I’ve been a fan of country music for more than 20 years and there’s no doubt that it is growing in popularity in the UK. Radio 2 have added country tracks to their ‘A’ playlist and more and more US country artists are bringing their tours to the UK, playing bigger and bigger venues each time they come. I think Taylor Swift had a huge impact on how the younger generation viewed country music and also the TV programme ‘Nashville’ being shown in the UK further raised the profile of the genre.’

‘It’s also fantastic that UK Country Music artists are succeeding in the industry too. The Shires, who are currently touring with The Corrs, are enjoying the boost that country music has had in the UK, becoming the first ever British Country act to secure a Top 10 spot in the UK Album Chart with their album ‘Brave’.’

The Nashville Nights events are to be held throughout 2016 and will hit seven major cities around the UK on their first tour. The launch party will be held on Feb 12th 2016 in London at Chelsea’s Under The Bridge Club. Radio Presenter and Country Music Specialist Baylen Leonard (Amazing Radio & BBC Radio) will be the guest DJ for the evening and fans of country music will not be disappointed. “This is what UK country music fans have been waiting for, somewhere to socialize and dance to current country music. We are hoping that we can convert some of the country-curious too, to show people that it’s not old fashioned to like country music, it’s a thriving and extremely popular mainstream music genre in the USA and we are sure that it will become that in the UK as well”

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
