C2C Experience

This year will be my fourth C2C experience, and it’s great to see how the popularity of the genre has grown here in the UK in a relatively short space of time!

It’s always a great chance to catch up with friends and meet new like minded people, but of course the music is the focus! While there’s still some announcements to be made ( including the lineup for CMA Songwriters Series which is one of my favourite things about the weekend, held on the evening before the main festival kicks off ) there’s already much to excite me this year especially as a fan of female artists.

I’m generally not a lover of big arena concerts but naturally there are some artists that I’m only likely to see in such a setting and it’s exciting that we are getting the chance to witness Tim and Faith’s “ Soul2Soul” set which I have heard nothing but amazing things about. And having seen Jennifer Nettles at last year’s festival ( a highlight for me, what a performance! ) I’m so looking forwards to seeing her reunited with the equally talented Kristian Bush ( loved him at last year’s Songwriters Series) for Sugarland’s set before they start their extensive headline tour back home. Kacey Musgraves is one of my favourite country artists and I’m hoping that we will get to hear some material from her forthcoming album “ Golden Hour” . The legend that is Emmylou Harris joins the Sunday night line up, which also features the amazing Margo Price who I have seen play intimate gigs on several occasions now and I’m in no doubt that she will win over a whole lot of new fans.

Possibly what I’m most looking forwards to this year, though, is the Bluebird Cafe songwriter’s round on the Sunday, especially as the fantastic Ashley McBryde is part of the line up. With Leslie Satcher also taking part, this will be an incredible experience I’m sure ( both artists have new albums out very soon too!). Ashley is also playing the arena’s Spotlight Stage, as is another of my favourites Lindsay Ell and the wonderful Jillian Jacqueline which

I’m so glad about as i sadly missed seeing her last October during Country music Week.

All in all, this is set to be another fantastic weekend of country music….see y’all there!
