Brett Eldredge Illuminates As A Crooner With “Glow” This Holiday Season

It’s official- December is upon us and out comes the Christmas music to help us celebrate the impending holiday. While everyone will be digging out the decorations and dusting off the classic tunes of yester-year there are a few new albums you’ll want to add to your collection!

2016 seemed to be the “Year Of The Holiday Albums” for country artists. Brett Eldredge joined fellow artists, Chris Young, Kacey Musgraves, Rascal Flatts, Loretta Lynn and Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood (to name a few) who all cut and released their versions of holiday classics along with a few originals this past fall.

While most will presume that these albums would boast the southern twang these artists naturally deliver throughout their work, some won’t be surprised to find Eldredge drew away from the pack delivering a crooner-esque holiday album. The 11- track album delights with sounds familiar to ears that enjoy the likes of Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr. and Frank Sinatra.  It’s no secret Eldredge is a Sinatra fan, even posting a picture recently in a booth that was the King of Jazz’s at a Las Vegas restaurant.

Eldredge delivers all the standards “The Christmas Song“, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas“, “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!“, “White Christmas“, “Winter Wonderland“, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas“, and “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” to get us into the mood of the season. The classics we grew up with as kids, Eldredge doesn’t disappoint in performing these tunes as well as his predecessors did.

Along with the fun classics of the season, Eldredge sang “The First Noel” and “Silent Night” with beautiful reverence. A reminder what the true meaning of Christmas, the harmonies on “Silent Night” is sure you to put your heart in a joyous mood with it’s smooth melodious notes.

Eldredge even duetted with none other than Meghan Trainor! Some may not realize before Trainor hit pop stardom she started in Nashville as a songwriter, notably writing for the likes of Rascal Flatts and more! Both Eldredge and Trainor serve up the sassy cat and mouse game in “Baby, It’s Cold Outside“. With Trainor’s unique voice and Eldredge’s jazzy vocals it makes this duet sound almost effortless.

Among the hits, classics and tunes everyone loves Eldredge gave us an original- “Glow“. Throughout the song Eldredge describes loving to watch the woman he loves and how she glows. What girl wouldn’t want to serenaded by this crooner with these sweet lyrics:

“This fire is nice
But so are your eyes
They twinkle when you smile
Ain’t felt this warm in a while
That northern star
Shines straight from your heart
Your looks are evergreen
Sweet as the angels as they sing

You look good in the light of my Christmas tree
So good you and the mistletoe and me
So nice you are my sunshine over a field of snow
And I love to watch you glow”

This jazzy number is also a great foxtrot too if I may add, (ok the ballroom teacher came out in me for a minute there..), this original is the perfect fit to round out a well done holiday album that will be enjoyed for years to come. Congrats Mr. Eldredge on delivering an album I’m sure Frank would be proud of!

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
