As the lead to forthcoming new album ‘Canadiana’ Philip Rambow releases new single ‘American Buffalo’
“American Buffalo” is the new single from UK-based Canadian singer-songwriter Philip Rambow. The track serves as the lead from his upcoming album ‘Canadiana’ to be released on Fretsore Records, and is the follow up to his summer single “Things Are Not Looking Good” which received editorial playlist support from major streaming services and airplay across multiple BBC Radio stations nationwide. You can listen to “American Buffalo” HERE.

From his early days in the Winkies, working with Brian Eno, Mick Ronson and Hans Zimmer, to his success in the London pub-rock scene, Rambow went on to pen hit songs for the likes of Nick Gilder and Ellen Foley, and co-wrote the classic radio hit “There’s a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He’s Elvis” with the late, great Kirsty McColl.

Rambow’s new single features a who’s-who of studio talent, with backing from Basement Jaxx vocalist Sharlene Hector, CJ Hillman (Billy Bragg, Yola) on pedal steel, Pete Thomas (Hall of Fame with Elvis Costello & The Attractions) on drums, Davey Farragher (The Imposters, John Hiatt) on bass and electric guitar from Paul Cuddeford (Holy Holy, Steve Harley) who also sat in the producer’s chair.
After some time out of the spotlight, Rambow re-emerged in 2015 with his critically acclaimed release “Whatever Happened To Phil Rambow”, listed in the top 50 albums of the year (Goldmine). This was followed by the 2018 track “The Hobo’s Lullaby’ from the Music Minds project, a charity record championing mental health awareness.

A special launch party for “American Buffalo” will take place at The Dublin Castle, Camden on October 20th. This will be followed by a series of live dates to support the new album “Canadiana”, with The Green Note and The Betsy Trotwood already scheduled for early 2020. Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK. I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee. Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.
