With Father’s Day right around the corner, so many of us are scrambling to find the right gift for our Dads. We attempt to get it right because our Dads are very special to us, but are material things really important? In the larger scheme of things, probably not, and nobody conveys that message better than country artist, John Berry, in his new music video for his latest single, “ The Richest Man”.
Berry’s Dad was the perfect example of a father who was rich in ways far greater than monetary wealth. He had friends and a family who loved and respected him and all the property, cars and cash in the world could never be better than that.
The song, “The Richest Man” was co-written by John Berry, Liz Hengber and Will Robinson and produced by Chuck Howard. It appears on his new album, Thomas Road. This lyric video, in its simplicity, makes it even more poignant. Berry family photos set to this beautiful song make it especially perfect for Father’s Day.

Watch this with someone special to you, and I would personally recommend someone very young. I watched it with my almost-9-year-old granddaughter, Abigail, and I think she actually took something from it. Children often seek pleasure from material gifts and believe adults think that way too. It’s up to us to teach them that life isn’t always like that. She got the message and I know she’ll keep it in her heart. That’s a sign of one very powerful song and music video.
