After attending the 50th Annual CMA awards I was inspired to start a series to spotlight the very artists I grew up listening to, the artists of yesterday that forged the path, are the idols of today’s country artists and the ones that have left a legacy of great country music. Today, and the seventh of the series, is about Alan Jackson.
No one forgets their first concert and Mr. Jackson was mine back in 1996. Ever since then my childhood was filled with country music and memories- one so vivid as sitting on Santa’s lap as a young girl and asking him solely for Alan’s CD that year. Alan Jackson is everything country music is about- songs of the workin’ man!
From humble beginnings in Georgia to stardom in Nashville and now owner of his own Honkytonk on Lower Broadway among his other success, Jackson is host to a very prolific career in this business. Jackson is proof staying true to your country roots can take you all the way, and for that I will always be a huge fan of his. Here’s a full playlist of some of AJ’s classics!!
