Meet the team

Annette (Founder – Think Country)

Hi, I’m Annette, I have been a huge country music fan since the early 90s, those were the days we were lucky enough to have CMT in the UK.

I enjoy nothing more than listening to country music whilst having a cold beer (or a moonshine) with friends. I try to go to as many gigs as I can here in the UK and in the USA; I think of Nashville as my second home and I am lucky to have made some amazing friends in Tennessee.

Think Country is something I am very proud of, I just want to share my love and passion of all things country music related with you all.

Amy Westney

Hey all! I am a musician, photographer, writer whatever you name it. Jack of all master of none… Wait… I mean master of all… yep that’s the one!

Country music has been my beginning, middle and end (cheesy but true…) ever since i discovered it back in 2005 and to be involved with Think Country just means that I get to spend my time immersed in it. I have had the chance to meet a lot of incredible people through music and I am thankful to now call a lot of them friends.

Keep your eye out for me because I’m always here, there and everywhere! In the UK or in Nashville you never know where I might pop up!

Lesley Hastings

Hi there ( or should I say Howdy Y’all??)

So excited to be part of the Think Country team, I am a massive music fan with Country and Americana being my particular passions! Great to see their rise in popularity here in the UK. Just love great lyrics, vocal harmonies and a song with a story! Throw in some steel and I am in heaven…..

I have a serious gig-going and cowboy boot collecting habit, which I am sure some of you can relate to! Occasionally I pick up a guitar and try my hand at songwriting.  I am also passionate about animal welfare, and have recently left the London rat race behind to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle in Buckinghamshire with my rescue dogs and cats. Cowgirl Lesley. xx

Caroline Gulla

Hi, I’m Caroline!  I live in Northamptonshire and from the outside I look like a normal mum of two lovely girls, dutiful wife to a long-suffering husband, head chef, housekeeper and dog walker of Ozzy, the Frenchie.  However, my alter-ego, Carolina, is a rock music turned country fanatic who grew up in an rowdy Irish family and whose main job between the ages of 7-16 was keeping the vinyl spinning on the vintage record player, be it old Irish rebel songs or classic country.  Don Williams, Jim Reeves, Tammy Wynette & Loretta Lynn were the songs of my formative years and inspired me to pick up the guitar and sing (ok, my singing is better than my guitar playing!).  My main hobby, outside of the day job, is attending live music events and travelling and my passion for modern country music was ignited on a trip to Nashville around 5 years ago.  My favourite male artists include Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and Chris Young & female would be Miranda Lambert & Brandy Clark.  I love to discover new and local talent and I recently discovered Americana, which I now love.  I’m the one who can’t keep her feet still so come and say hello if you see me out and about! I am really excited about being part of the Think Country Team

Helen C Pocock

Hi, I am Helen & I am from Portsmouth/Southampton.  My father is to blame for my love of Country music.  I remember back in the ‘70s he bought a set of 6 Country & Western cassette tapes from a newspaper advert.  I wore tape number 5 out by playing it so much!  I would love to know now what was on that tape!  Unfortunately in 1976 my father died and apart from what was on the radio (Terry Wogan in particular!) Country music was switched off in our house.  Talking to mum now, we are not sure why and we have come to the conclusion that it wasn’t actually a conscious decision by any of us!

My love was reignited in the 90’s when a trip to Calgary Stampede introduced me to Garth Brooks & Friends in Low Places.  It was EVERYWHERE!!  Every bar, dance hall, shop, radio station, TV programme.  I came home with the album!  Went back the following year & bought more albums.  I kinda then went quiet again.  It just didn’t sound right over here.

A trip to the CMA Awards in Nashville started me off again (for the 3rd time!) in 2010.  This time it was Miranda, Lady A & Carrie who had me hooked.  Shortly after I got home I discovered Spotify which made all the Country music I was beginning to love easily accessible and then in 2012 the 1st C2C festival was announced.  From there on in Country music DID sound right in this country. Not only that, everything else began to pale by comparison!

I have been to all 4 C2Cs (& have my tickets for next year!)  Last year I decided to branch out and give FSA Fest a go.  Opened up a whole new world to me; UK Country artists, several of these artists had been Pop Up acts at C2C and some have since become friends.  I have now become as passionate about them as I am about the US artists!

Patti McClintic

I’m Patti. I love just about every genre of music, history and I’m a genealogy addict. I’m a pop culture junkie and I have a lot of useless information stuck in my head! I’m so happy to be a part of the Think Country Team because teamwork is really what life is all about, isn’t it?

Bill (International Photographer)

I’m Bill and I’m thrilled to be a part of Think Country UK! I’m a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, which allows me to photograph so many amazing country artists – often so many that I have to turn down opportunities, because try as I might, I still haven’t figured out how to be in two or more places at one time! I love this city and I love sharing the music through my photography. I hope you enjoy the photos and I thank Annette for bringing me on board – it’s really an honor to be here.

Katie Marker

Hey guys! My name is Katie and I’m from up north in Minnesota.  I was born and raised in the south east part of the state, with roots in upper Iowa and the surrounding Midwest areas. My first concert memory takes me to the MN State Fair where I recall seeing Travis Tritt. I don’t remember my age, but I do know I was young. At that young age a concert seed was planted and it’s been growing ever since. I like all varieties of music, and if you were to take a look at my playlist you’ll see evidence of that. There’s everything from today’s pop music, rock and roll classics, to hard metal rock, and of course country. That’s always what I come back to and what feels like home, literally and figuratively.  My grandparents were the lovers of country music, so I mostly heard it from them when I was younger. Growing up I was the “family rebel” in that I enjoyed country music, as most everyone else in my family that had interest in music, didn’t necessarily have interested in country music.  Thankful that I went against the grain and followed what felt right. Country music has not only been a type of music I enjoy; it’s been an outlet for me and something that was there for me when I needed it most.

I’m super stoked to be a part of the Think Country team! Country music and music in general has brought so many wonderful people into my life. Those meetings have turned into friendships, which have turned into a family of sorts. I love writing and expressing my thoughts, and I love music. Being able to mix the two and enjoy what I do and to work with Think Country in the process makes it that much more meaningful.  Music is an exciting thing and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next!
